The Art of 'Yes': A Whimsical Wander Through What-Ifs

Picture this: You’re standing at the edge of a vast ocean of choices. Each wave is a decision, each ripple a possibility. Now, ask yourself, “Who would I be if I hadn’t surfed those waves of chance?”

Let me dive into my own sea of stories. 😜

I wasn’t born with a compass pointing to adventure, nor did I have a map marked with X’s for treasure. But oh, how the winds of frustration billowed my sails! I got tired of watching ships leave the harbour while I stood on the dock with a ticket called ‘Maybe Next Time.’

So, what made me hoist the anchor? A bellyful of laughs at my own hesitations and a journal that read more like a wish list than a logbook. I hadn’t ventured into the lands I longed to see, hadn’t climbed the mountains of my daydreams.

But then, I started saying ‘yes’ like it was going out of style:

👉 'Yes' to going on that first discovery scuba dive

👉 'Yes' to going overseas to move to another country

👉 'Yes' to going on a 3 month roadtrip while working full-time

👉 'Yes' to trying out kiting with my friend who's just finished their instructor certificate

👉 'Yes' to backing myself when people who I thought would didn't

Imagine if I hadn’t! I’d probably be a champion at the ‘What If’ game, still mistaking panic for just another Monday, and feeling as connected as a phone without WiFi.

But here I am, typing away, a heart full of ‘thank yous’ for every ‘yes’ I’ve ever uttered and for the crew who nudged me off of my comfort zone and into my courage zone.

So, dear friend, what’s your tale? Who would you be if you hadn’t embraced your inner power and said 'yes' to what you really desire?
